Driver skill is going to help you win more than tire pressure... Expect to get beat by a veteran in a much lesser car.

P.S. Start with 40/42 hot and see how it feels.

Make the car as light as possible and learn how to trail-brake. And maybe tune the suspension (toe, camber).

All of this advice is fine but what you really need to know is:

Walk the course as many times as possible and then drive it in your head
Drive smooth
Look ahead to where you want to go, not at the cone in front of you
Slow in, fast out
Have fun

Go early and learn the course. The better you know it, the faster you'll be.

Also watch more seasoned drivers drive the course and see what lines they take.

If you have street tires, you need to put the preasure up to keep them from rolling over.

At the autox, my little CX is much faster then cars with even double and triple the hp. Its more about handling and driving.
