So I drive to Daytona from Orlando a couple months ago, no problems. Park the car for some Chinese Buffet and pig out. Start the car, smell that god-awful electrical burning smell and pull over. Alternator smokes, smell like ****, and is hot as hell, replace alternator and battery.
7/15/07-Drive to Honda meet, roughly 1 1/2 hour round trip, no problems. Drive to work next day. Work. Start car to drive home and within 30 seconds, it does the same effin thing at idle. Unplugged the plug on the back of alternator, let the car idle, plugged it back in, no problems.
Note-I do have a 250RMS/500Peak amp/sub running off my battery, but I don't think it draws that much current to have any damaging effects, especially on a 3 month old alternator...
SO...Is this an electrical wiring problem? Is something grounded out maybe? Honda Gurus please chime in.

So I found some axle grease on the underside of the alternator, gonna go get an axle right now... There's not that much grease on there, but any is bad. I'll check in when I get back
