Tachometer/Transmission jumpy while in 4th gear
Hi Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to look at this.
I have a 93 Honda Accord LX 4 Door and when I am driving at 55 or higher and in overdrive, the tachometer goes up for a couple of seconds and then back down. I thought it was the transmission, but when I shift down from OD to 3rd...the RPMS goes up even higher. Is this a control issue? I was thinking the VSS could be the problem, but not sure. Anyone have suggestions or experienced the same thing?
Thanks in advance!
Michael

your tachomotor?? or spedomotor.....if your VSS is off youll throw a code, even if it only for a sconde....hope it helps
This is an automatic transmission. This symptom occurs all the time when speeds are greater than 55 MPH. When this occurs the RPMs increase about 500 rpm and then back down to normal. It is almost like it is pulsating. Does that make any sense?
