Default Super Tech Oil filters....

I used one on my last change for my Toyota.... and I've read some stuff on the net about these filters being better as far as filtration media than Fram... anyone else have any experience with the Wal-mart brand? Somebody also made mention that they use a synthetic filter media... is this the best out there???

hell no

personally i use WIX its a few bones more than fram but 100X the quality

it uses a progressive filter media with "big" openings on the outside surface of the filter media and "fine" pores deeper in so it doesnt clog up as fast

the anti draiback and bypass valves are operated by a steel coil spring rater than a piece plastic against cardboar liek fram

i can go on, ive done a buttload of research the least i would put on my accord is WIX theyre stuff is da ****

you can get it at o'riellys

also here ya go

Fram is by far one of the worst filters you can buy. I read somewhere that the Super Tech filters were made by the same folks that make Wix and some others. I personally like Purolator Pure One oil and air filters. If you do your research you'll find they filter better than most out there and are only $6 or so for the oil filters. By the way, most oil filters out there have the anti drainback valves on them now.

Anybody else know if these seemingly cheap filters are actually worth it?

I've heard they're OK. I'm not comparing them to real good filters like WIX, PureOne, or Mobil1 but for the price you could do a lot worse.

But the thing is, WalMart may switch suppliers any time they want. Six months from now it may all be different.

I personally use WIX K&N and Mobil 1 filters....i like the K&N for the ease of changing....they have a nut afixed to the filter so its a sinch during a oil change....but before i was using Wix on my cars I beat on....and mobile 1 on my family rides....all three brands FTMFW!

I use Honda OEM filters. You can argue about whether or not they are "the best", but if they are good enough for Honda dealer's mechanics they are good enough for me.

And they are not that expensive, about $4.50 each including the crush washer you are supposed to change each oil change - price is before shipping.
