Where to find a REAR subframe for an 89 Crx?
that is one part i have never seen for an ef. its a pretty strong part, so i would be a little worried to buy a crx with a severly damaged one.
youll proably just have to get one from honda or a junkyard.

I race a CRX and after a rollover incident that damaged the rear cross member (wrinkled it in the middle and compressed the distance between the suspension mounting points), we pulled it straight. However, subsequent races fatigued the wrinkled area and it broke.
The only option was to cut out a member from a spare parts car. I cut the chassis out past the unibody's 'frame rails' on each extreme end and then drilled out the spot welds once off the car. On the car to be repaired, we dropped the gas tank to access the area and used an air chisel to break the welds. Clean both the chassis and new member's weldable area real well to ensure a contaminate free weld. New piece fit perfectly and all is stitch welded.
Most difficult part is drilling out the new pieces' spot welds 'cleanly' to avoid any metal distortion or removal of excess material. Total repair will take 8-10 hours from start to finish.
Good luck.

OP by subframe you mean the rear crossmember (with the steering rack attached) right?
i doubt many places would be willing to ship a part that big & bulky. junkyard all the way. any 88-91 civic or crx that matches power or manual steering will work.

The rear subframe has been discontinued by honda you have to get it from the scrap yard. Its a lot of work to put in if you dont have a welder I wouldn't attempt it.
Thanks for the input guys... Ended up drilling out the spot welds and boxing the subframe. Worked out great. 12 hours... Got REALLY good at welding, though
