Default storing tires on rim

Saw my winter set sitting in my basement and was wondering if I should of rotated my bottom tires to the top. Did a little searching and found out i should of bled them to 10 psi and still be storing them in black bags. Was also reading something about stacking them rim to rim and back of a tire to another back of a tire. I need some insight on stacking and will i run into a balanced issues come winter cause the bottom rim was sitting on the inside of tire for 2-3 months?

I was told that the only thing that effects tires on rims for storage is the room tempature and PSI. The heat causes flat spots. Normal room tempature they are fine.

I've never heard any specific recommendations regarding pressures or stacking. The only advice regarding stacking is specific to tires with white lettering, to prevent staining the rubber, and does not apply to blackwall tires, which are most tires nowadays. They do mention a cool, dry location, away from sunlight, and the plastic bags, in the storing recommendations on the Tire Rack website.

I keep my winter set in my basement. I don't bother with plastic bags, but it's fairly dark down there, and I've got a dehumidifier. I just put them wherever it's most convenient. I don't change the pressure at all (although I usually have to add a few psi when I bring them up at the start of the winter).

I stack mine either in the garage or the basement. Never gave it a second thought.

I have seen for sale some black tot bags to store and carry the tires around, they have nice carrying handles but at $40 for 4 I thought it was a little much to be spending on something I am going to use twice a year.

Think about it, they are tires, when in use they go through heat and cold, wet and dry, get bounced of rocks, pot holes, and other obstructions, go through hard brakeing and acceleration.......I think they might be able to handle resting peacefully in the basement.

The only thing I can think to mention is when putting your winter tires away.....make sure you wash off all the salt and let them dry in the sun before storing them.

Cheers!
