switched ecu to p13...car hates me
Hello again all. My accord with a JDM H22 has been running rich/guzzling gas ever since I bought it. Thinking this had a lot to do with the non-mapped P28 civic ECU it came with, I bought a 5-speed P13 ECU (dont know if its JDM or USDM). Now the car boggs (runs lean?) and generally runs slow and like ***. I am getting a CEL as well which come on after every period of extensive driving. I went to go get it checked out at Advance but since its OBD 1 they could not find the port. So my questions are
1)why does the car run so badly on the stock ecu?
2) where is the port for checking the CEL on a 1995 accord/ 1992/93 H22?
thanks in advance for all your help!

im sorry, im not looking to be spoon-fed but I dont understand what it measns by jumping with a paper clip, I dont know where to look. Please point me in the right direction at the very least. Thank you!
So would I most likely be having these problems because of the ERG? The car doesnt throw any CEL with the p28 ecu (I know it doesnt even look for the ERG), but it runs rich and eats gas, but it runs smooth with no hesitation. So what could it be if its something affected by the ECU? can the codes 13 and 43 be linked? Thanks!
No wonder! All you gotta do is swap your ERG with an EGR.
j/k.
Code 43 is also your O2 sensor. How old, or how many miles on that sensor? Your symptoms all correlate together since the ecu relies on the O2 to adjust the fueling, which if it's running rich can clog up your EGR.

sorry EGR
The car runs perfectly untill the CEL comes on, then its really resistant to any movement. The revs are slow and the engine is loud. The car has 160,000 on the body and approx 75,000 on the motor. So getting a new O2 sensor might fix the prob? or do I go for EGR first? the car has been running super rich because of the civic ecu that some ******* put in it so it would be no wonder if the EGR is "clogged"
so my questions now are, do I get a prelude or accord O2 sensor (if not interchagable), and where is it located? also best price/brand?
thank you for you help brother, im about to throw this car off a cliff

just jump the plug near to get your code. Im not sure if its in the same place as the prelude, the prelude comes out from behind the center console, on my civic, it was near the ECU

this thread shows you how to do. Find out the location of the plug, and do it the way the thread says.

I had a 43 code on my civic, I changed the fuel filter, gas cap, and was going to get to the fuel pump, but never got to it before I sold it. to this day, that car still has the code 43.
what wiring harness are u using?

I dont know, I bought the car with the swap already thinking all the work has been done great deal, only to find out it has been half-assed running a civic ecu and civic intake, which is not plugged up to a sensor. Im going to take some tube and connnect it myself, as I like the way the intake lies to prevent hydrolock. But yeah it runs perfect with the civic ecu, so im guessing it would be something electrical (o2) more than something mechanical (EGR). I am new to all this as far as I know The O2 sensor is in the header, so Im looking for a H22 O2 sensor, but to add to my confusion its got a DC header, will I have issues. I serously owe you guys a beer if your ever in GA!
try the o2 sensor, another thing I didn't get checked out when I had the code 43...
as for the dc header, yo should have issues, there should still be a bung where the o2 sensor screws in to. On the h22 header, its under the car, closer to the cat. converter...
