Default Blinking Battery Light

I got a 2003 Civic DX and only in the past couple of days, the battery light comes on. It seems like it blinks with the rpms. Higher the car revs the less it comes on, just flickers every now and than and only stays on long enough to see the light than goes off for second than comes back on quickly and keeps repeating this. At idle, its pretty much on for a second, off for a second, on for a second...

Car idles fine, runs fine, no loss of power, doesnt seem one bit different than normal other than its hard on fuel lately but i think my o2 sensors are starting to die + need to replace air filter asap.

Id like to address this problem with the battery light asap as im leaving for a road trip this coming weekend.

Thanks,
Richard

Do you have a multimeter? (Volt Meter)

If you do, test the voltage of the battery with the car off, it should be around 12... if not it could be your battery is on its way out or your alternator is not charging it properly

Now with the car on, check the voltage again, it should now be at somewhere around 13-14.6 volts, if not you're alternator is bad or the belt is loose.

How many miles on the car now? and is it the stock battery that came with the car?

yup, orignal battery.. car has 120,000km so that is about 75,000 miles.

Car still starts perfectly fine, instant you turn key and everything. Thats why I kinda thinking it could be a loose ground somewere or something like that.

I dont have volt meter so im going to run by Canadian Tire and pick one up, hopefully not ot expensive and be nice thing to have in the garage I spose!

could be alternator... take it to auto zone or something and have them check the alternator.
