Default ITR VS. Skunk2 manifold? Same thing?

Skunk2 says its not just a reworked ITR IM, but it looks the same and every one says its ther same thing.

Whats different between the two?

Anyone?

I heard the Skunk2 IM is smoother and lighter. And the difference is like 2-3wHP only over the ITR IM.

skunk 2 manifold's runners are shorter and have a larger diameter than the type r manifold

So in other words, the 2 manifolds are NOT the same?

.....wasn't there something about it being for the b16 or gsr head and not itr?

I haven't heard of anyone getting better performance out of it over the itr IM.....

Anyone?

In the instructions it says that they modified inlet port #4. I'm not sure what that means, but that is what it says.

My Friend got a Skunk2, so we decided to measure everything while my TypeR one was at the machine shop and his was too, they are actually different

here's the pictures of the micrometer measurements

The Two Intake manifolds side by side, the Skunk2 doesn't have a bracket at the back (bottom) that's why it sits lower

Micrometer measuring of the Skunk2

i have spoken with many skunk 2 reps and they told me the design was taken from the type r manifold and basicaly the runners/ports were opened up more . they made it from the type r mold though and that is direct from skunk staff.

Yeah you can definetly tell that the skunk2 is taken from the TypeR molding, all they did was make the runners a little bit larger.

And the the Skunk2 is a little bit lighter then the Stock TypeR manifold

was pretty neat when we measured them though
