hey guys. i have seen these on several cars before. i was just wondering how you go about changing the orange to red. i think it looks a little better than stock. if u can help me out that would be cool, thanks. later.

Candy apple red transparent paint.

 

is that it. just open them up and paint them? that sounds way too easy.

 

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one, and yeah, that's all there is to it. Looks much cooler IMO than stock, and less tacky than Alteza's. Good luck!

I went a bit overboard with the candy apple/smoke paint.

my friend did the same thing.
he used to have clears, then he painted them m3 style.
but those cracked.
so he took his stock tails, and just painted the orange part, by masking off the tail except for the amber part ans spraying it with candy apple red translucent paint.
he left the white part for the reverse.
it looks dope.

 

You can either buy some that are red/clear like mine, or go out and try and find some clears and paint them with the candy red paint. I love my OEM type tailights I got from Rob at CHB.

 

How much did you pay for your tails? And where is CHB? I'm looking to purchase a pair soon.

Get it at any place that carries **** for stain glass. Thats all you need is stain glass tint. I did mine using that and EVERYONE that I know loves them. I like them cause no one around here has them as I do. Its all about being different. You can see mine in the thread I started in the appearence section. Near the bottom and obv I started the topic. (SPOOLIN) and the title is New here, look at what I got!

Paint right over the outside of them. Doesnt take long to do at all and is very easy to do. Also hahahaha very easy to **** up. Go slow and hold the can a good 10" away from the lights! :D

 

k guys still having trouble locating some paint, i went to an art store and talked to them about stain glass stuff and they said it would be like 5 bucks for a tiny little bottle and they would have to special order it, any way i wana just find it in a spray can to make my life easier. so is the testors paint jaut called transperant red paint or what? what is another company that makes this transperant candy apple red paint? sorry guys i just dont wana get some crapy stuff that will look like crap. thanks for the help. later.

 

i did the same thing to mine like 2 months ago....i got the paint from **wal-mart** and yea it was like $5.99 a bottle (cdn). looks tiiite!!
