RE730's, the worst tire I have ever owned
I cannot say how much I HATE these tires! They seem to have no grip at all. It seems whenever it is hot in Arizona, these tires loose al of their grip completely.
I am calling Bridgestone on Monday to try to get them to refund some of my oney, or give me credit towards a new set of tires.
Anyone else have any thoughts on the 730's? Suggestions on a tire with good street performance for dry weather only? I could care less about wet performance, it never rain in Arizona.

730's aren't a bad tire. But, you bought a tire that isn't really known for super high dry grip. It's definately above average though. Did you notice that it has a 300 tread wear rating before you bought it? Did you notice that it has rather small tread blocks, meaning it will squirm a lot when new?
There's nothing wrong with the tire, but you're expecting oranges when you ordered apples.

I like my 730s..I seem to have the right combination of good grip in both wet and dry conditions..Maybe since you are in Az. you need a diff. tire. For here on the E.Coast they seem to work right for me..Though i'll try something else next time..
IMO, the RE730's are excellent overall tires. Good in the dry, decent in the wet, decent treadwear, etc. An excellent street tire. Hell, I auto-X on mine and still trophied all but one event this year. But make no mistake, they're NOT race tires. However, after a season and a half of auto-X + over a year of daily driving, mine are just now needing to be replaced (this Thursday actually).
I had the 730's before i put the Azenis on and they are not as grippy as the Azenis but they do have great wet traction and treadware. I liked them a lot in the dry too. Very predictable in my opinion.

And to think only a year ago people were raving about this tire. I personally love the tire. This is because I knew what I was buying and for my purpose, daily driving, it gives me a perfect blend of performance and durability as well as great traction in wet conditions. It helps if you know what you are going to do with your car before you spend money on a tire that will not suit your needs.
An ounce of thought can lead to a pound of success. (stupid quote, but it just popped into my head all of a sudden...)

I replaced my 010's with the 730's when it was time, and I have had no complaints. They have lasted quite a while, and I have even autocrossed them a couple times and Tracked them a couple times too.
Azenis, they are not, but a decent tire for the $.

i love my 730's ,wet, dry, handleing.plus the stiff sidewall gives me a little extra insurance from bending a spoon rim on these washboards pennsylvania calls roads.
I used RE730 after the stock wore out, i think they are great tires
they lasts~! and the traction on the wet is good. but dry traction
isnt as good as the RE010. Now Yokohamo A520 are some what
better then those two above. better traction on both wet and dry

730 is an awesome tire for the cost compared to others. ThHis was before the Azenis became available but when considering hydroplane resistance still the best tire I know of. I have had 3 sets and compete on them at Auto-x and even ran them at my last Talladeag event I organized. I was almost as fast as people on race tires.
WHat are you doing with them and at what temps? Would ANY tire hold up to what you are putting them through?
I personally would pik them 205/50 RE730 over the Stock RE010. Better wear and equal grip.

I also like my RE730s. For my location (Toronto), it is a perfect daily use tire with excellent performance and wear. I noticed that in hot weather, I dropped the pressures to 35/33 from 37/35 and it really helped in the corners.
