Default Valve Cover Gasket

Hey,

I want to change my 1988 CRX valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals . Is someone able
to give me some basic instructions on what i need and what i need to do. The main thing i need to know is how much to torque the screws for the valve cover. And if possible where I can get the gasket set for a decent price.

If anyone can help that would be great.

not sure what to tourqe them to, but i know it isnt much at all.
me, being the dumbass i am, chose not to look it up and ended up breaking one of the screws off.

Also, try to get an OEM or FelPro gasket. They shouldn't be very expensive at all.

Here's what you'll need to do:

1.) Remove mounting nuts and ground strap near the driver's side
2.) Remove upper t-belt cover
3.) Remove spark plug wires
4.) Lightly! tap valve cover with a soft mallet to dislodge it.
5.) Remove old gaskets, you may want to stuff clean rags into the spark plug tubes to prevent stuff from getting in there
6.) Install new gaskets. You also may want to put a bead of Hondabond (Gray Permatex) in the "humps" of the VC gasket just in case.
7.) Reverse to re-install.
