Default Im super pre occupied with this help me out!!

What the hell should I do first

between Intake and exhaust?

get the intake first then the exhaust or vice versa?

And im a little apprehensive on getting an intake cause i have heard things like theres an issue with the throttle response and low end tourqe.

I am going to get the hondata reflash EVENTUALLY so i know i need at least an intake.

help me out with what i should do because alot of this car stuff is new to me!

Justin

i got my K&N drop and the response has gotten way better. but with a full piping intake may lead to different results.

my vote goes to getting the intake first. i love the way it magnifies the sound of vtec.

just do it yourself...when you get to the part where you have to put the fender back, just see where to cut and cut little by little. I barely cut anything when I did it.

i can always cut just a little and wrap cloth or something around the hose so it doesnt ruin the hose and at the smae time havea snug fit

I just pulled the fender away from the piping while I did the cutting, you'll see...it's quite easy.

Serious question here - Can you actually 'hear' vtec?

I own an 06 LX and an 07 SI. In the 06, if you pin it all the way to redline, the sound doesn't change at all. It just gets mildly louder as the RPMs go up as do all cars. In the SI, when you hit vtec, you HEAR it. The sound grows audibly louder.

i drove my friends Si so i know what to compare it to. honestly after my drop in filter. its sounds just as the Si only quieter. like you know how it gets a bit louder after 3.5k and it gets louder again after 5k. i can actually hear it now. unlike before with the stock. ill try for a sound clip, but i lost my fone watching transformers. badass movie if i may add

intake and exhaust and you be able to hear it better. still noticable in stock form

when i had my old boosted coupe i used to run open downpipe just because the vtec crossover was so loud and sounded mean as hell.

I hope you can find a decent intake for less than 250. They're just tubing and a filter. Sure you can design them to make more power, but at the end of the day, you're going to see minimal gains for that much money.

An Injen Cold air intake was good for taking 3/10 of a second off my quarter mile time.

i tried to say this in another thread. all im gonna do is remove all the sound defusing and roll with a drop in.

i bought an intake for the first time back in 99....never did it again. i just can't see myslef throwing down a couple bills for 1-5 Hp...plus i don't even like the look of aftermarket intakes anyway.

Honestly the way the injen cold air intake is routed there isn't much to see except a black elbow that connects to the throttle body.

I thought i'd bolt mine back in just to throw people off if they ever wanted to look under the hood. Hack the stock air tube to wedge over the injen elbow somehow to appear stock.
