94 accord fuel and speedometer problem
hey i have a 19994 2 door honda accord. recently i had 2 big problems with the car. the first was the speedometer was stuck on 20 mph when start up. it would randomly work on days. the miles are also not recorded on the trip or overall miles. does anyone know what to do? secondly the fuel gauge is not accurate. on certain days it would drop to E then bounce back up. but when it does work it usualy says i used up a quater tank already when filled up. again, does anyone know how to deal with this?
Remove the cluster (Accord FAQ) and pull off the back circuitry of the speedo and try that first. Just snag any 94-97 Accord cluster and rip off the circuitry from that (it pulls right off) VSS is only the problem if there's a CEL
Replacing VSS will be an recommendable option

Did you steal that from the Muffin Man . lol damn !!!
Sounds like your cluster is going to ****. I would replace it .

I had the same problem with the speedo only it stayed under 0 and 120 mph. I ordered new circuitry from themuffinman and will put it in when I get it. Just to support his FAQ, I'm going to add pics since I see it's a common problem
try banging on the cluster, or hitting that odometer reset as hard and fast as possible, that worked for me. seems to shake the contact, and allows the cluster to work, worked for me, but 3 months later it went bad, and i replaced only the speedo, you don't have to replace the entire cluster, maybe just the Fuel, and Speedo gauges. then again if you find a cluster for cheap, go for it.
so the best thing to do is just replace the entire cluster? i can pick one up for a good price but i didn't know if there was any other senor that was messed up or if it was the cluster itself.

You might not have to replace the whole thing. You might be able to find each gauge individually. Do whatever you find cheaper

You can most likely get away with just replace the circuitry on the back of the speedo, I just helped awdgsx with doing it. He and I were both able to just replace the circuitry on the back of the speedometer rather than replace the cluster or the VSS.
And lol, yeah I believe someone read one of my other posts about the cluster
