Default What are the bumper caps on my ap1 for?

I've noticed there is a bumper cap for each bumper and i'm not sure what they're for. I've been told that its maybe for a radar detector? Can anybody answer this?

Behind the plug is a threaded bung. You screw the tow hook from the toolkit into the hole.

Who the hell told you that? That doesn't even make sense. It's for the tow hook you have in your trunk.

Some guy who lives down the street from me told me that it was for a radar detector. I wasn't sure but that didn't seem right to me. Thanks for the answers
