Good All Season Tires?
Ok... So I just received my wheels acouple days ago from JLB Motorsports and I was thinking of buying some Toyo Proxes 4's... Does anyone have any experience with that tire? or does anyone know of any good all season tires that are roughly within $85-$90 each? My wheels are 16's just incase you needed to know and I want my tires to be 205/45/16. Thanks
just about the best all-seasons ive ever used have been the Kumho Ecsta ASX, i havent used the Toyo's you mentioned in order to do a direct comparison but as far as grip, performance/dollar and life I have been very pleased with the ASX.
plus they are a good bit under your stated budget, $71 apiece from tirerack

If you just got some nice brand new rims you may want to consider getting some steelies for the winter time. Not only will it allow you to get nice summer tires and nice winter tires, it will also save your rims from getting destroyed in the winter. It doesn't cost any more money other than the price of the 4 used steel rims which isn't much.
Just a thought.

I agree with old man neri. In fact, if you just bought the 16" wheels, then you still have your old wheels, and you can use those for winter tires, right? If you get winter tires on one set of wheels, you can use summer tires the other 8-9 months of the year, and you'll get better performance all year round than all-season tires, which are a compromise 12 months a year.
However, to answer your question - the Proxes 4 is not very good. You can do much better for the same money. Here are the very best all-season tires you can get:
Avon Tech M550 AS
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS
Kumho ASX
Michelin Pilot Sport AS
Pirelli PZero Nero M+S
In most sizes, the Kumho ASX costs substantially less than the others, and that's why it's a great value as well as one of the best all-seasons you can buy.

Im planing on using my new wheels year round but im not sure yet... it depends on how much money I have later on because I can just use the 14" wheels I have right now as my winter wheels... they just need new tires badly. I barely survived last winter with them considering I couldnt get out of my driveway and once I did the car would just slide everywhere and I almost crashed into a snow bank once lol... but right now I just want to get some all season tires just incase im forced to use my new wheels as winter wheels which I really dont... but anyone have any recommendations for winter tires for some 14" wheels? my brother has blizzak's on his RX-8 and ive heard those are real good winter tires... and I cant imagine thy're more than $65-$70 each for some 195/60/14's... so I think I may go with some goos summer tires and buy some good winter tires and throw them on my old wheels...

The Tire Rack currently has a closeout on the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 in 195/60-14, $66 apiece. It's an excellent winter tire.
Other than that, you may need to wait till fall. It's hard to find winter tires in stock this time of year, and most places won't tell you what's available till then.

Here's how I would rank these summer tires in performance. I'll show prices for 205/45-16 from the Tire Rack.
1. Goodyear F1 GS-D3 $123.50 after rebate
2. Bridgestone Potenza RE750 $115
3. Kumho Ecsta SPT $75
4. Toyo T1-R $96
5. Yokohama ES100 $86
From their website, it looks like they carry all these brands except Kumho. In the $85-90 range, it looks like you might wind up with the ES100. Don't let them talk you into crappier tires like the Yokohama Parada or the BFG g-Force Sport.
