Default Offset boring rods?

Is is possible to have rods offset bored on the big end. Similar to re-sizing the big end, but have the bore moved up towards the small end? I'm thinking about making a B18C 137.9mm rod have an effective length of 137mm. ARP bolts taking it up to 8k used for daily/RR. Would it work?

Why would you want a shorter rod?

Use it in a D16 using D16 pistons versus D17 pistons.

Offsetting the centerline of the pin bore is the only way to do it. Youd have to use smaller pin and move it up or down however much material will allow with your choice of pin diameter.

Don't want to break down and go with the C's unless I decide to resleeve it. If I do, then its on.

How would you take up the side rod clearance, even if it was possible, which it is not.

can be done but i dont know if its cost effective. machine shop will mill the surface of cap and rod then bolt them together and bore a new hole nearer the short end.

Sorry that would be an exercise in weakening the rod.

Guess I'll just use D17 pistons.
