hey, a friend of mine that is a honda mechanic said that i should put a type r vtec solenoid on my jdm 16 because its better. is this true or is he full of it.

You won't get any power gains,and it won't engage louder..From what ive seen the 1st gen sir b16a has the loudest engagement out of the b-series anyways,and it does it with the worst cams out of the bunch..So maybe some are different and flow more then others,who knows..As long as your vtec works just leave it be
