i'm running a tiny crank pulley (undampened, tiny thing) on my 400-or so WHP f22 sohc engine. its in an EF with a bisimoto adaptor kit to a D trans...runs great , etc.. very conservatively tuned, no problems.
except..
i have wrecked 2 oil pumps in 1k miles. that sucks. first one took out my bottom end and my turbo...ick. didnt notice until it was too late.
second one i caught it immediately.
i dont have room for a stock crank pulley, or the money for a custom ATI harmonic damper (550$ and a month wait...but i'm doing one this winter, if the engine lives well).
i have room for a b18 pulley with the AC/PS rungs shaved off though. i'm having if shaved, hole opened up (about 1/8'' smaller), and balanced. the factory rubber insert will still be in there.
think this will be good enough to keep my oil pumps together? (balance shafts are removed with the kaizenspeed kit too BTW)
its REALLY fast and has a great powerband, especially for a 2000 lbs EF, but i HATE this oil issue.
