pcv hose collapse

Default pcv hose collapse

i noticed the hose going from the pcv valve is collapse. do i just need a new hose, or is there a problem with the pcv valve. thanks

I'd replace the vacuum hose and the PCV Valve (~$5 new)... might as well put new lines everywhere as they are all looking a little old.

The best thing to do is replace them both. The PCV valve is always forgotten about. The ECU is compensating for the flow thru the pcv valve. When it is collapsed the air is not getting into the manifold so there is less air mixing with the gas and causing a rich air/fuel ratio.
