Default "Real world" mileage ?

Hey guys

What is the real world mileage you are actually getting, city and highway, with the V-6? I am considering purchasing a '04 to '06 model, but was orginally looking at the 4 cylinder, until the EPA mileage site claims the V-6 and I-4 are basically the same on fuel economy (minus one or two miles).

Would like some info on this.

Thanks everybody

I have an 03 V6. You will get better mileage with the 4 cylinder, but I think the V6 power is worth the extra gas expense. Opinions will vary on this. I get about 23 around town, and about 30 on the highway. That's better than my old 92 4 cylinder Accord, so I'm not complaining. It has 100 more hp.

If you get an I-4 with manual you'll have plenty of power. OK, your drag racing days will be over, but the car will definately get up and move.

That being said, my real world gas mileage on my '99 LX I4 (manual) is in the upper 20s, probably 29 (it's been a while since I narrowed it down to a number).

Back in the '80s I would have said "go with the V6" because V6's lasted longer, but the Honda I4 of course lasts.

what was your method of determining your MPG? 39 city seems too high to believe

I usually get about 24 MPG or so in a 94 4cyl. non-vtec. Sometimes it is a bit less because I have intake/header/exhaust, and I usually can't resist to go WOT here and there lol.

The most I've ever gotten in city was 27 MPG (driving grampa style).

my car takes about 12 gallons of gas every time i fill up.. i get around 440-450 miles to a tank.. the fuel pres. regulator was set in the high 20's low 30's in psi. im sure it isnt good for the car to have it that low.. but it worked.
