It is attached to a stud beneath the valve cover. This stud screws into the head. If the stud is spinning, it should unscrew from the head. The valve cover should still come off. Once the valve cover is off, you can then remove the acorn nut while holding the stud from underneath.

exactly, while your unscrewing it take a flathead and put it underneath the valvecover and pry up on it gently to put pressure on the nut so it will come off

you can strip those stupid nuts out and they will just keep spinning either direction. i think i was able to break the stud tho by putting a screw driver under the nut and either a ratchet or impact gun on the nut itself.

Don't overtorque the stud. Search google for "hondahookup manuals" if you need a free manual with all of the torque specs.

hey everyone! I have the exact same problem...well I had two. One was the same at the one above, I removed it with a dremel and a hacksaw, took forever. The second one is tough, its the one in the middle of the valve cover, between the spark plugs. Does anyone have ideas on how to get it off? The hacksaw did the majority of the work and won't fit on this one. Also I went to two different acura dealerships and they don't have the stud for the middle, so I am only trying to damage the nut it self. thanks for any tips everyone!

....now this is what i saw when i removed it..
