Default Harness Question... yes I researched first!

I am wondering if I have to run a roll cage or harness bars to run harnesses. I understand that you shouldn't street harnesses without a cage 'cause if your car rolls you're f*cked. And I know you are supposed have the harnesses at less than a 45 degree angle going out from your shoulders so that if you hit something and accelerate forward your spine doesn't compress like "a fat chick sitting on a stack of pancakes"... The thing is that I got a set of Recaro SRD's and the harness slots are 4-5 inches above my shoulders when I sit in 'em, so the harnesses shouldn't compress my spine...

So heres the question...

Can I reasonably safely run the shoulder straps of the harness through the seat's harness slots (that hold the harnesses above my shoulders) and bolt them to the floor behind the seats without the use of a harness bar/roll cage(excluding roll overs from the equation)? Thanks in advanced!

no,stick with the stock seatbelts untill you get a crossbar in there..

I understand what you're thinking though, how the harness would really be compressing the seat and not you since the slots sit higher then your shoulders..but then how is it really holding you in? it's not..

There will be a gap between the harness and your shoulders around the slot area..It's kind of hard to explain
