1996 Honda Accord Passenger Door Not Latching Incorrectly
Hello-
I have a 1996 Honda Accord and about 2 weeks ago my passenger door started to come "un-latched" just enough to make the light on the door, the dome light in the car, and door ajar lights come on. This happens when the car is in motion or parked, even when the door is locked, but the door has not flung open when in motion nor can it be opened when pushing on the door, it can only be opened when the handle is used.
Because the door is having trouble latching the "lines" are looking in-correct and the said door is not "level" with rear passenger door. To my knowledge the door has not been opened to far or pushed down on.
Any help or advice would be great.
If you need more info about the Car or the problem please let me know.
Thank you,

Thank you,
check to make sure all the obvious bolts are still tight and none have stripped out.
also, you can make the door think its shutting by putting a screwdriver in there and making it latch. See if you can tell if its not closing enough. When you do this, pull the handle after to release it before you try to close it.
when you say its not in line with the rear door, that makes me think its loose on the car. The switch could be going bad as well on the door, making it appear to be open.

Move the latch hook on the pillar post in and up a little bit.
run a pencil around it first so you can see how far you move it, then loosen the phillips screws
About 1/8" should solve your problem, be sure to retighten the screws as much as possible.
