Hey, I'm looking "strong" rims - like something with the structural integrity that steelies have.
See here in upstate NY the only thing worse than the roads is the potholes IN the roads
. That's why it's damn near impossible to slam a car around here. Even if you drive slow as hell you got like 1 year MAX with lightweight rims before they crack and you leak air.
I like 15" rims - I'm banking on a 195/55 R-15. 16's don't look good on civics IMO, and 17's are just too big, I hate low profile, not to mention they crack/bend like hell here due to less tire cushion.
Now my friend has GSR blades and I <3 them, but from what I understand they're expensive as ****. Though I can't find much else w/ 15" that has the same structural integrity as steelies.
Anybody have suggestions?

Even replica things like this:

I'm just wondering what types of materials can hold their strength, only steel rims? It says there it's cast Aluminum alloy which to me means "IT BENDS!"
Any other materials beside steel that have the same integrity? I don't care about if it's a "style" rim or knock-off or cheap **** or whatever, more interested in just lookin aight as well as holding up well. 'Cause even really expensive rims like name brands such as Konig 'n such get bashed to **** w/ these roads and end up leaking air because they're "light weight" - so I'm more interested in the material's durability.
Not sure how titanium works, maybe somebody could help me there?
Eh..sorry about the dumb question, I know nothing of rims as aesthetics aren't really my thing

Lightweight doesn't mean structurally weak.
You've got basically two kinds of wheel. Cast and Forged. But there's also other methods like SSR's SSF or semi solid forged.
Forged wheels are stronger than Cast wheels. Since forged wheels are generally lighter, the weight of a wheel isn't really a factor in it's structural integrity.
An 8 pound forged 15" wheel is just as strong as a 16 pound cast one.

well..if u think gsr blades are expensive then good luck on finding anything else as strong that will fit into yer budget. i say go oem or steelies with hubcaps for daily wheels and maybe have some show wheels in the garage for the summer.
check out ebay for msw, bbs oem, bmw, 4x100, enkei, riken mesh wheels..those are the only wheels/brands i can think of that you can get for around $200 or less on ebay or the local classifieds that are at least sorta strong.

Oh, that's not bad, are there any other OEM rims that look nice? I was looking at a (I think) ~'04 LX the other day and it seems to have nice, solid, rims on it.

Any wheel will eventually bend if you run out of travel and it suddenly has to push the entire planet out of the way of your car. On the other hand, if you have a decent amount of suspension travel, reasonably stiff springs with good dampers to control them, and a little bit of sidewall, then you can keep really lightweight wheels round just about forever. Even driving through the hood in LA.
