Opinion Sir Turbo or ITR swap
Hi I have a Ek4 Sir with 60k miles on it stock. I was planing to boost it I bought turbo injectors intercooler manifold and a s200....now in a shop where they import jdm used parts for commercial vehicles they sale a jdm b18c ITr full swap(motor, tranny, ecu, harness, etc) for US$ 2,500 ....what route would I go... selling my motor and all the turbo stuff and do the itr swap or just boost it.
thanks
thanks
I would go turbo - you're going to feel much more of a difference than a stock ITR

Are you saying you can get a B18C5 for $2500?!?! Well, still, i'd probably go turbo, being that you already have some of the parts for it. How much power were you planning on making, and were you basing it all off of your stock internals?
After owning several turbo cars i honestly think turbo is really overated there are so many things that you have to take into account and there is nothing like all n/a power.

why would you put low compression pistons in an ITR motor? if you want to turbo your car then don't buy the motor...

yeah that would seem kinda DUMB imo to get HYPE R engine....the days of fast and furious and Hype R are over, Boost the engine you have and make alto more power than a shitty n/a engine for 1/4 the price.
thanks a lot ....I am planing to boost the b16 just 8psi i want it to last....but I think its more reliavable a Itrs engine stock..
yes it cost only US$ 2500 here jdm parts are not overated peruvian laws are very strange about jdm cars and parts...its difficult to explain..but in here jdm cars are tax free and they pass through a right to left hand drive conversion so people can afford to buy a car also this generates more jobs....here and in chile are the only countries you see a left hand drive DC2, ek9, dc5, gtr, levin, curren, at a cheap price..

UH lets see 200 more cc, better designed head, bigger cams, lsd, etc... Then he could sell his motor a hopefully retrieve all that was spent on the type r. I'd bet that the type r motor would make quit a bit more power at 6lbs than the b16
ugh lets see....WHAT HAS better designed head??????? type r??? NAEEHEHH...b16 and type r are same casting....both flow 4.75% more CFM than GSR casting...so try again. if you are talking about the type r cams and valve springs and such...WHOOPPIE DOOOO...aint a dam thing wrong with B16 for boost..hes not gonna be going to 9000rpms. Boost the B16 and have fun....*** a HYPE R. an dif you ever wanna build it to a beast. Call Dave Hickman... he will hook that dam B16 up where if you added turbo boost and good susp you can be good for 9s and 10s all day long in 1/4. if you hookup. check him out.
Only thing smart you've said all day. Face it a itr motor is a better place to start seeing how he wont lose much if anything. Its better than the b16 what the hell. Dude I have two b16s I love em as much as you do but the fact still remains.
I never did get that h22.
I never did get that h22.
one thing. he already has the b16 , so why waste $2500 more dollars on another B series? put that into the b16, you act like a b16 cant perform..LOL..there are tons of FASTTTTTT b16a. hell there are b16s in the 9s sec 1/4. If anything just get a GSR bottom end. expletive a HYPE r
