Need a temporary fix for 5th gear tranny grind...
Already searched and nobody asked about a quick-fix for the grind... I'm assuming my syncho is bad since it only occurs in 5th gear, but will refill and check the tranny fluid next weekend. Currently using Redline MTL.
Is there any quick-fix I can use to ease the problem/grinding so I can drive on this longer before getting a h-series swap?
Thicker oil like 10w40? 20w50? Or, if its possible, to overfill the tranny in case not enough oil is in there? I filled it w/ the car level on jackstands, what would happen if i jackup either the front or rear more?

yea, it helps, but it still has that "click" feel going into gear sometimes, so I know things are still clashing against each other =|. Anyway a particular type of gear oil will help?
Its not the syncro. Its the shift fork, sleeve set and actual gear. All were not engineered properly and are faulty. This is not a recall, but there is a service bulletin since it is a common problem for 90-97 F and 92-02 H motors. Im going to get mine fixed when my tranny is out. Redline MTF supposedly helps.

What exactly is this "fix" is there an updated part that doesnt have this issue? or do you just replace it w/ an OEM one and hope it doesnt happen again?
so you just replace the shift fork, sleeve set and actual gear and it'll be fixed?
