yea you're probably gonna need a new lower lip. you can prevent burning and melting in the future with extended exhaust hangers, available at most auto parts stores.

extend your passenger side hanger. thats all you need. you need the mufffler to move to the right more to make it center with the molding in the bumper. Thats what i did to mines. The muffler shop just cut my hanger in half and welded a 3 inch piece of hanger in there for me. solved the problem.

for my exhaust i have to move it to the left, what i was thinking was putting like a sheet of carbon fiber right under the exhaust i was wondering if that would help

I had the exact same problem with the HKS hi power, i have a hole about an inch in diameter in my bumper I tried to get heat absorbant material but it didn't work. As the carbon fiber goes I know that you are able to get some that fit evo's but never found ones for an RSX. But the muffler shop said cutting your hanger is the most realistic and practical option.

id rather look into another exhaust than cut my perfectly fine bumper
but thats just me
getting extension for the hangers would be the best solution

yea...i've had this exhaust for a while and never really cared to look at the rear lip until just recently..

that ****** is GONE. now...i can either get an extended hanger...or get another exhaust.

problem is....extended hanger ain't gonan do **** b/c its already burnt to hell. and for me to get another exhaust...it'll probably look horrible b/c im gonna go with the WS or Exmag and that lip looks like ***.

oh well.

i say...if your **** isn't so bad...get the rear hanger extended. if its already toast....**** it. haha

Instead of cutting the steel hangers and getting longer ones can you get longer rubber hanger to solve the problem?

forget about new exhaust ... not many give you as much performance and nice sound ... and it looks hot being that is offset too ... anyway i agree with k-dub ... if its still there get the hangers or longer rubber and if not f-it your still looking good with the hks ...

i cut a piece of metal from lows to fit the shape of the bumper and you cant even tell its there. i didnt want to get extended hangers because it took away from the tilt that being the reason why i got it. its is really thin and flexible it goes in light bulb fixtures for the heat shield.... worked great

stage 2, a little lower:
