Default finding cheap but reliable tires

what are some places my friend can look for that would be local where he could get like one tire or a few for really cheap, but they are somewhat reliable?

a junkyard -- dont buy cheap tires...its just a bad move and its not smart...just go to tirerack.com order a set of tires for what you need

Try some Falken Ziex's they seem to hold up pretty good and have a great price.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Fuzion ZRi's. They're not the greatest tire in the world, but for the money I spent on them, I couldn't ask for a better tire. They're actually a redesign of the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 (Fuzion is a subsidiary of Bridgestone).

PS - Ignore all the people saying these tires are loud .... far from it. I've never noticed any unreasonable level of noise .... they're a semi-hard directional tire, so I don't see why they'd be whisper quiet.

My buddy ran a few Hankooks and loved them.

Right now my Accord has some $60 each BFG's and my Civic has Toyo Spectrums. My first set of Spectrums went 125,000 miles!
