B20Z2 OBD2 in a OBD1 94 TEG; need wiring help
I've done engine swaps before but only within the same OBD range. Now I have a OBD2 B20Z2 that is going into a OBD1 1994 Integra and am unsure on what I need to do to get this working correctly.
The ECU that will be used is a OBD1 P75 LS ECU. I have the B20Z2 OBD2 engine wiring harness that connects the the chassis harness. My chassis to ECU harness is OBD1.
Am I going to have to chop the harness and rewire everything or is there a conversion harness that would work on my application?

you should not have to chop anything
the alternator should be switched and the intake manifold with all accersories
everything else should plug up then you will not be using the secondary cps

It already has a OBD2 alternator. Should I switch to a OBD1 alternator?
Luckily, there is a 94' LS IM sitting next to me. So I have that covered.
What about the distributor? Will that be plug and play?

if you are putting it in to a obd1 chassis then you are going to need the obd1 distibutor, alt., the stock harness, Ls im, tb, and probably the driverside motormount, and bracket to make the b20 work. no cutting involved and even if there would be you always want that to be your last resort.
Thanks for the info! So here is what I have so far;
LS IM
94' LS driver's side motor mount
Stock harness
94' LS TB
I have a OBD1 D series alternator and distributor but I'm not sure they will work. Am I missing anything?
Anyone have a link to a tutorial on this kind of swap?

I double checked my dizzy and alternator and found that they are both OBD1. I guess the guy who had this before me already put these on. Even had a OBD1 power steering pump. Cool. Less money I have to spend.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

WRONG!
Ive done lots of swaps into EG's, DC's.. You can use OBD2 engine harness in the chassis, even though it is OBD1! You just have to use the OBD2 distibutor, alt, im!! and you can still use your OBD1 ECU

I would agree with you on the giraffe IM. Strangely mine came with a IM that looks almost identical to the LS IM with the exception of a unknown humongous sensor on top.

I'm still going to switch to the LS IM though.
How do I identify exactly what year this engine was made in?

use whatever harness that matches up with your dizzy/alternator/injectors, everything else will plug right in and not be a problem, btw use that intake manifold as it will fit fine and you wont have any problems, that sensor on the top is part of emissions for obd2 and wont be needed
