Default Anyone got HIDS on their bike?

I was thinking of ways to make my motorcycle more safe. Larger turn signals, preferably integrated, and hids would greatly improve my visability and let ppl see me easier. Does anyone have HIDS on their bike? Did you do a plug and play or a retro. I have a 00 F4. Also if someone can recomend a good integrated turn signal/rear fender elimiator thing pls let me know.

as far as integrated turn signal, i have clear alternatives, im pretty sure people behind me dont know what the signals mean haha so its not that really safe.

i wouldnt say integrated is safer at all

they are harder to see during the day than stock

plus some of them are real hard to see when youre turning plus braking

clear alternatives make the best iMO

Did you do a retro or just use a plug and play kit? RRs dont have projectors or anything right? Do you blind everyone on the road? Was it hard to wire and everything?

I wonder what size bulb the 00 F4 uses.

I have 6000k in my 07 RR. If anybody has done this then you know how diffacult it is to hide the ballast. Regardless, I've had them in all my bikes/cars and I won't change back to a normal bulb.

First things first, find out what make the bulb is in your bike, I'm going to assume H7 so don't get me wrong. Secondly, you won't need high's and when people say " yeah its just extra security for visibility" laugh at them. I can see more with 1 hid in my bike then both in my car (which came stock with them). Lastly, if you have a friend who wants it too, split on a plug and play kit for a car, then you wont be paying much at all. It comes with ballast x2, bulb x2 , wire harness x2. You plug the harness into the ballast, the plug from your bike into the ballast, and then put the bulb into the socket, and your finished. The hardest part will be hiding your ballast inside the inner fairing or cowel.

Goodluck man, hope some of that helps.

i have (had, i just sold my bike, ) oem 4300k from a nissan g35 in my 01 f4i.

i did the retro a little different. since the f4i uses h7 bulbs i just got a h7 to d2r adapter and put the d2r bulb in its place and wired up the ballast. it looked great and never blinded anyone and had a good cut off for a relfector housing.

i've got a 00 F4 also. the bulb that it takes is the H4. i was also looking at HID's for my F4. I think xenondepot makes a really good kit. I have their HID kit on my car and its awesome. They make a motorcycle kit with slim ballasts and longer wires so you have more space to work with. the motorcycle kit comes with 6 feet of wire instead of only about 2 feet.

as far as safety, i would stick to the stock front and rear signals if you want to be the most visible. I have flushmounts on the front and you cant see them at all if im coming toward you.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know where I can get this kit?

go oem products on ebay FTW.

i got one headlight (low beam) for like 70 you could get both for like 125-150

they are more reliable and better light output then P&P kits

if you want slim ballast, just do what i did and offer one of ur friends

tell him you will order the slim ballast kit with there BULBS, and when it comes in, they will use ur OLD ballst because all hid kits (aftermarket not oem) have the same connections
