cv boot question and brake rotor
I am in the process of replacing the outer cv boot on my 97 accord. I can't seem to get the outer knuckle off the shaft, so I can replace the boot. How is the knuckle held on. How do you remove it? Can this be done in the car or do i need to remove the whole axle from the car an do it on the bench?
Second question I am trying to remove the brake rotor for replacement also. I tried to use the Wagner DIY guide and I can't get the rotor and bearing to split. I have the 4 bolts in the back out and I replaced them with longer ones.
Can I use a puller on the front??
I don't have a manual I need the car back ASAP.
Thanks in Advance.

You don't need to separate the bearing from the rotor, you need to separate the hub/rotor/bearing assembly from the knuckle. Try hitting the back of the rotor (your replacing it anyway) with a hammer and see if that knocks it free. Make sure the four bolts on the back are removed first. If the bearing is REALLY rusted in there you may need to take it to a machine shop and have them press the bearing out. Before re-assembling everything make sure you clean and grease the hole where the bearing goes so you wont have this problem the next time.
I am trying to replace the outer CV boot on my 1997 accord.
How do I remove the outer CV joint from the axle shaft so I can put the new boot on??
Can I do it with the axle still in the car??
Thanks in Advance

you already started a thread to address this issue. Please keep it all in one thread rather than making multiple threads for one thing. I'll move this into your other thread.
