Kinda Funny story/ Starting issues, What could it be
Alright this thread is mostly for just telling my lucky *** story on 7/7/7 and then the tragic events afterwards... but to help promote laziness I'm going to ask your opinion... but the story first.
Ok so at about 11:30 pm on 7/7/07, I was driving on a moderately busy road when I, at the last second (going about 45), realised that there was a red light.... I panicked and SLAMMED on my brakes, but instead of stopping, I heard a loud THUD and continued to move (but slow down progressively).... I WAS SO RELIEVED I DIDN'T DIE THERE! I thought to myself "any other night my life would have ended right there". So I ended up coasting back to my friends house and preceded to coast back to mine. When we got to my friends house it was about 12:40 on 7/8/07... My friend was about to get out of the car when all of the sudden my radio turned off randomly. I thought to myself" wow this is weird" and tried to turn it back on car wise. After failing to turn it back on I turned off my car and tried to turn it back on... the car wouldnt turn back on, instead, it weakly cranked a little bit then stopped.... So at this point we tried to jump start it, no luck *(which by the way I thought was extremely weird)*, so then we decided to pop the clutch, THAT WORKED!!! but unfortunatly ran like *** and misfired the whole way home.
OK so I came to the conclusion that with my brakes the line burst, which in turn caused a vacuum leak (which in turn could possibly make my car run shitty? tell me if I'm thinking right, I'm a noob), but it still doesnt explain why it wouldn't turn over and why the the battery seems to be dead.... NOw I figure my altenator is the fucked up thing causes my secondary woes but can't be for sure.... SO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE

check the belt tension on the alternator, then troubleshoot the alternator itself, make sure its outputting good voltage.
