Bent rear axle(s)? Need serious help
Ok so I picked up a wrecked prelude for a song, the problem is the rear end....both tires point outwards toward the front .... think of a straight caster line and from the rear of the car the tires toe out approx 2 inches back to front....what could this be. I don't know anything about front drive cars...I usually work on mustangs, I actually haven't even gotten under it yet.... I have a sprint car that needs to run this weekend so my priority is there. Is this like a bent control arm issue or what?
Is it a 4WS model?
Either way check the rear toe arms and see if they are bent or anything. If it's only the toe that's messed up you probably won't have any control arm issues.
Just an example pic, the toe arm is in the top center and control arms are upper right and middle center:

wow nice schematic.... thank you...now if that is messed up what do i do, buy a new piece? I don't think it is a 4 ws ..... it is a prelude s...came with a f22 and 15 inch alloys.
What year is it? Oh, and I forgot to mention 4WS is 4-wheel steering...it has a steering rack in the rear also...you'll know of it has that once you look at it.
If the toe arm is bent of course you will have to get a new one...but in the off-chance that it's just way out of alignment it may be able to adjusted back to spec. You really won't know until you can get under there and look...the subframe could even be bent, you never know
