<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by theresyourproblem &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Here's what I need short of a complete rebuild:

1. A sure fire method of testing engine codes in this car.

2. what version of H22 head this is and a diagram for the vtec wiring on it.

3. A plastic bag and a zip-tie. Oops, forgot to take the zoloft.</TD></TR></TABLE>

1) There's only one way to pull codes. Jump the service connector, read the codes from the blinking CEL on your dash. Report back.

2) Check for two circles, there's arrows pointed to the numbers around it. That's the year it was made (actually I think it's a year prior).

3) Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

Did you wire in the necessary VTEC wires to the correct pin on the ECU? Don't blame the motor, it's INSTALL ERROR!

you're gonna have trouble getting that thing to run correctly on that ecu. the h23vtec (which is what you have) needs to be tuned in order to run correctly, because depending on how it was assembled, it could have a pretty high compression ratio.

You need to hit the damn search button dude, check the faq, etc. There is info on checking the codes, wiring vtec, everything.

are you positive its not a half assed h22 swap? just because it says h23 doesnt mean thats what crank is in there. i have a 94 h22 that has h23 stamped on it, thats all i could get my hands on when we rebuilt the motor.

Well this could also be an actual JDM H23A, which would be way cool, and it sounds like it needs the codes checked and make sure all the sensors are working. Wiring may be way messed up, and then yes it should be tuned on a dyno to run properly since those engines were only in automatic accords!

tuning on a dyno is a waste of money and time, street tuning ftw.

I'm limited to a trial user right now...PLEASE make me a real user. I have 15 days to go, but it's the M2S4 tranny, the original 5 speed manual that came in the car (I'm assuming). It works well, but 1st and 2nd gear are really close to the e-brake...I should just get a shorter e-brake handle...oh yeah, and I fixed the vtec today...the oil pressure sensor was clogged and I just cleaned it out with some WD40. I'm still a little scared to push the 8k. I'll do it tomorrow, after my oil change.

Someone please tell me this swap isn't ileagal in the US. How hard is it going to be for me to get this thing inspected. I doubt this back-country town would have a mechanic that recognizes a motor out or a '99 JDM Accord Wagon SiR. I didn't swap it, I bought it...

With luck they'll class it as a regular USDM H23. Anyway, JDM swaps are illegal by state, not federal government
