Default Weird noise in while driving w/ Auto Tranny

OK I have a 99 DX, anyways, while I am driving if I push on the pedal hard (to accelerate quickly) the tranny will slam while going into 2nd. I mean the whole car will sound as if its being hit. I was thinking of a bad mount, but it doesnt do it in any other gear, just first to second. If I take off slowly, no problems........ Anyone have any useful advice or suggestions???

How many miles do you have on it? Auto's (mine included) seem to be good for about 150k or so.

Could still be a motor mount

my sister has a car with a auto tranny...91 EF and it shifts REALLY hard. its just the way the trannys were made up so its like popping the clutch when racing a stick. my dad is a professional mechanic and looked over everything like mounts braces etc. thats just how hondas shift under a load. dont worry about it.

Well this is my 3rd honda with an automatic trans and im telling you ive never heard anything like this. Its not the transmission hesitating to go into gear, its a loud "thud" when it does, its sounds and kinda feels like hitting a pothole (except the car doesnt bounce).........

bad mount?
you'll have to inspect that yourself.

If it is a tranny problem, you'll need a set of gauges if you want to verify when the mechanic tells you that you need a rebuild.

It's probably your motor mount, because it happened to my DX whenever I pushed the pedal. I changed two of them and no longer does it.

Possibly the carrier bearing. That's what it sounds like.

Auto > man conversion ftw!!!
