I hear that the autotensioner fix on a h22 is an important modification bc it fails? Is there any truth to this? does anyone reccommend doing this or am I completely fine with keepin it stock?

but is it really necessary? if not I would like to keep it stock and put the money towards other mods

Then go ahead and spend your money on modifications. When your autotensioner decides it's time to die you'll be kicking your own *** after Mr. Piston introduces himself into Mr. Valve.
Save your engine from grenading itself. Do the H23 manual tensioner conversion, I'm gona guess your H22 is due for w-pump,front seals, belts anyways.
