Default JDM OR USDM Type R Tranny question

I haven't been on here in a while due to the fact that my car was down getting a few goodies put on to it. But I was curious to find out, and I searched for a while and couldn't get a solid answer with all of the archived information. So here it is. I've got a type R transmission that I was told it was a JDM tranny, which is sitting in the garage. (By the way I need to get rid of.) I know that there isn't anything wrong with it because I just recently pulled it off a EG coupe that I bought to part out for my integra. I went to post it for sale and realized that the stamp shows J4D LSD. So is it true, that this tranny I have is a USDM? I'm starting to think so but I wanted everyone's expert opinion. The barcode still reads S80-xxxxxxxxx. Does the S80 only refer to the LSD portion of the tranny? Seems like a stupid question but I just wanted to be sure of what I have so I can advertise it correctly and not look like a complete fool! Thanks all!!

the J4D indicates that it has a 4.4FD
both 96 spec JDM and all 1997-2001 USDM ITR transmissions came with this

does it have a VIN #plate on it?
if not, does it show signs that it was once there and has been removed

thats a tell-tale sign that its a USDM tranny

It should have it as well since it also came with the 4.4 FD.

Look at the holes where the Vin# plate usually is on the tranny and if there is threads, its usdm, and if there is none then its jdm

So if it has no threads then it's a JDM, regardless of the stamp J4D?

Ok thanks! How does the J4D mean that it is 4.4 FD?
