Summit Point Jefferson Circuit
Who here has done it and have you done it on a larger bike? I'm looking to do it in Sept sometime for my first time back hoping that I can learn a lot more there as compared to another crowded day at Main.
It's a fun track, but be ready to wear out the right side of your tire
. I'll be there next weekend but they are actually running it counter-clockwise so I finally get to chew up the left side.
Biggest bike I've been on has been my 636, and it eats up the straights. There isn't anything overly technical but beready for the fun decreasing radius bus stop corner. Oh, your legs will get very tired since you are essentially turning the whole time.
It's a great track to get back in the saddle with though

well I'm really hoping to get more CR tips with probably a smaller turnout then would ever be at Main too. Chewing up tires - eh, part of the game. I never really got into them on Main, they're still barely broken in
Yeah the turnouts are pretty low usually, especially if there is a day at VIR or Summit Main the same day. Good time for feedback
I've got about 200 miles on Jefferson. It's a fun course but it's VERY slick, especially in the morning.
As far as the track goes, if you're running clockwise enter turn 1, the hairpin, from the middle of the track.... it's the only way you'll properly hit the first apex. In the decreasing radius entry to the bus stop (just after the uphill right hander) remember to use the whole track.
Be very gentle with your inputs, especially on your bike.

I'm not sure I'm doing it yet. I'm looking at my possibilities with all the orgs around here but chances are I won't do main right away again even though I really like it. I'd really like to get a place where I can get good CR feedback
FWIW, I think it's a very good track to get "on track" with. You see everything just over once a minute so you it's a great place to practice track skills - like picking up markers, working on form and inputs, learning what your machine is comfortable with, what it isn't, and just becoming familiar with the track environment... it's very easy to get 'sucked in' at the track and get hit with sensory overload. And when that happens all your abilities drop dramatically.
My advice is to give it a shot.
