Close but not quite 96 and up was when OBD2 was used. 92-95 4th gens are OBD1....unless it's different in Canada, but that's how it is here in the states.

so is there a difference between the OBD1 96 engine and all h22a4? i know it is still closed deck, but what about all the OBD2 related parts? is it more like the H22a4 in that respect? i mean could you drop a 96 closed deck into a 5th gen and it be a straight swap? p5p > p5p correct?

the thing is. . . my lude is the 4th gen and it has P13 written everywhere around the engine. . . so im guessing i have the obd1 ecu?!?!? the other weird thing is mine is the h22a1, which comes in 4th gen and also obd1, but when i took out the distributor, the code on the housing was TD77U(those are for 97 up 5th gen models.) im just wondering if there could be any other 5th gen h22a4 parts in it.

the 96 sr-v, just like the 96 vtec in the US, has an obd2 p13 in it. It has an obd2 h22a1 also (duh).

This is the ONLY year they made an obd2 p13, as they changed to p5p and p5m in 97+ ludes. This ecu is hard to find aftermarket (luckily I got my hands on one some time ago for my 96 lude )
