Depends on what kind of wastegate, I know on the tial's the 44mm gate (thats what I have) is said to be leaded race fuel compatible. I also think that every one of their other valves is compatible but the 38mm unit, which it is also available for but I think you have to specifically ask for it.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I do believe that is accurate.

You are correct as i have the 44mm Vband. Tial posts on here and told me they all have the lead safe valve except the 38mm but it can be purchased seperately

yep, the only valve we offer that isnt race gas safe is the black valve for the 38mm. a silver valve (race gas safe) IS available for the 38mm you just have to ask for it when you order.

what is likely to happen on the 38's with out the racegas valve?

probably ran 200 gallons of leaded fuel through my 38 back in the day, and actually now that i think about it, i sold it to a friend of mine who is still driving on that wastegate. thing must be atleast 5 years old now. lol

what we have found seems to be that if you use race gas on a consistant basis, the valve will not get stuck, however if you use race gas one or twice a year it will get stuck. this is based on what people have told us and we have no idea if there is actual truth to this.

So what is the difference between the race gas and regular valves? Metallurgy?

Why not just put the race valve in all 38mms and I guess increase the price by $10-$20 whatever the cost diff is?

Yeah gotta pay shipping right? I don't remember the cost of the race valve $25 or whatever BUT I am sure doesn't cost Tial that much. I have seen too many cars locally run the standard 38mm non race gas valve with no issues EVER. Weird

Because most people buying the 38mm gate are the people on a budget, and the majority would rather save $20 than have a gate that will work with race gas, that they'll probably never use.
