K swapped Accord.. =prelude K swap?

Now, I know this is hasports "concept" but if it was infact introduced first before a prelude one, it could be adapted to the lude correct?

That is a nice little sleeper as it sits right now.
Looks like they changed the tranny mount anyways for the swap. How different are the other mounts though? It probably wouldn't require too much modification to get it to work. I bet Hasport will work on a set of mounts for a Prelude, though they may not since we're all so set on our H22's, & there may not be enough that would swap in a K24 to warrant them doing it. Just make your own.

This is where I just say:
Leave the K's in the cars they came in.......
K Swaps.....the biggest waste of money money can buy!
Just buy an RSX or Civic Si with that money!

theres already a k24 5thgen somewhere on here. i remember seeing the pic...it was a black 5th gen. and i dont see why a k would be so bad in a prelude...if you have the money then go for it. honestly i think the k's are the next gen for the honda/acura scene. it produces more hp and the same amount of tq with a smaller displacement. im not sure how the k20's power curve will work in a heavier prelude chassis, but the only way to find out is by actually doing it, or learning from others success and mistakes. i own a prelude myself and believe that the h22's are the most underrated motor. best bang for buck motor...its just the aftermarket support or lack thereof thats frustrating.

sorry dude but you cannot beat a 6spd and bolt on/cams 250whp.
I would have never said this some time ago but it really is true. Though the swap parts for k series stuff are at ridiculous prices right now, the swap performs.

I just can't see spending the money it would take for the swap......I would just personally have that power in more of a car.
I am all over K's in the future.....You just won't see me spending my money to get the K running in a car that didn't come with it.
I kind of laugh when I see some piece of **** hatch with a K swap in it.......$10k setup in a $1k car. Just not my cup of tea!
K's are THE future of Honda tuning, and with time I will be on board.
Ive been trying to decide between an 06 Si and 05/06 RSX for about a year now.
Going to pull the trigger next year......Bolt-ons/Kpro/Suspension and it'll be tons of High Tech Fun!

I just see it as for what it'll cost in time/money for a K swap Prelude/Civic/Teg I could do a hell of alot more with an H in all 3 cars......
What could you do with $10k an H22 and a Civic??? Hmmmmm........
Nuff said!
For those Super DIY'ers out there.......your time is worth money too...
90% of the people doing K swaps in other cars are doing straighforward motor swaps and not building a thing. What happens when your stock setup lets loose?

Love your H22. Forget the K.
If you want the K, wait a couple years for the Si/RSX-S to drop in price.
Or spend the money that would've been used for a swap and build the H22 from the bottom up

Don't be so closed minded, that is not "Nuff said!" Time is nothing, money is another thing. Like I said, the k swap stuff is too expensive as of now, but it IS a better platform. Argue all you want.
If you're gonna go ALL OUT then the small differences start to disappear, but VTC is something an h22 will never have. $300 new factory heads is something an h22 will never have. 6 speed transmissions (other than $15k custom boxes) are something an h22 will never have. An oem 99mm crank is something an h22 will never have. Shall I continue? It is easier to make more power with a K for less money until you reach the all out status bar, which .1% of the people on this board will ever reach.
If I felt like spending the money instead of being able to not work my next semester in school, I'd be selling my lude right now and doing a k24/k20 in a dc2.
This is coming from someone who has spent a decent chunk of cash on a prelude/h22 setup, and let me tell you, when you do cams and a bunch of other expensive bolt ons and make just as much power as a brand new rsx-s on the same day/dyno, you kinda feel like an idiot. Then you take into account the fact that I regeared my trans with a 4.71 final drive, and now hate it when I can't drive to the beach when I want to, man a 6th gear would be nice.
After dealing with all this for a while, I can stand back and say that I would rather be driving the car mentioned above. Other than the exception that the prelude interior is awesome.
Take my opinion for what it is, an opinion.

the K series is just way more advanced then the H22, enough said can't argue that it's a fact.
I never really got the whole omg 15K in the motor with a 1K shell your an idoit thing, isn't that we all do anyway? I mean most the highly respected cars on this forum and most technical forums have very little spent on style and most the money is spent on the motor, hell you turbo and build and H22 and the engine is worth more then the car is.
hell if I blow my H22 and I can get a K swap for like 1-1.5K more then a replacement H22 in my prelude you damn well bet I'll be swaping to a K series.
when it comes to the amount of power you can pull out of a motor and keep it internally stock and therefore preserving that honda reliability we love so much you can't beat the K series and that what makes it very desirable.

Im disappointed in you Matt. How dare you think of selling your prelude for an integra lol. Its gotta suck to sell all that stuff that you spent a lot of time and money on... but you speak the truth. Your same hp figures after all your money and work can be achieved with bolt ons with the k's. Do a k swap in a lude not the teg plzl. Another thing is , the 6speed tranny isn't all that... it depends on what your using it for.

I would never do a k swap in a prelude, unless there was a swap kit for it, fabbing mounts is not in my repetoire as of now, I don't own a welder.
I don't know what more you could want out of a trans than the type-s 6spd. LSD, low, close gears, and a 6th gear for good MPG on the highway.

you can't deny that if the H22's had a 6th gear we would all be ten times happier and save a ton more gas while on the freeway

Not necessarily. Doesn't it depend on the powerband of the engine? Just because the car is putting along at 2K rpm doesn't mean that you will save gas with combined driving. Going up hills might require you to push on the gas pedal more than you would have to if you were running at a higher rpm. Same when passing.
I am really curious to see if the MPG would go up on the H22 if it had a longer 5th gear. I have a feeling it won't be much, if any, if the 5th gear was longer. I want solid proof though.
