JDM B16a Wire Harness?
Okay so i bought a JDM B16a SIR II engine from Hmotorsonline.com ....and i got the engine in the car( 1997 honda civic Hatchback DX) and then i came to the wire harness....And the guy at Hmotorsonline.com told me i had to custom make a harness bcuz of vtec and the harness for the b16a is make for a RHD....So my question is what is the best way to do the wiring for this engine to my car?.....
Thanks....
Thanks....
You dont need to actually fabricate a custom harness. You can add VTEC to the harness or if you dont want to mess with the harness at all, yank it out and get an EX harness that has VTEC already. Just make sure the harness is OBD2A
It smuch easier to prep the motor before installing it, i.e. getting the engine wired. But you can use you stock harness for the b16. You may have to extend some wires and you'll have to run wires from the vtec selenoid and pin the vtec wires into the ecu. You will also need to swap the oil pump out for one with a crankshaft postion sensor if your going to stay obd2.
Do not use the RHD harness unless you just need it for pins etc. It will not work unless you completely remake it. Its bascally for parts and sensor connectors.

the cleanest way to do it is what i would do
get a 99-00 si alternator, 99-00 si injectors, 99-00 si distributor, run a 99-00 engine harness into a p2t ecu
it'll look completely stock w/ no hack jobs on the wiring
