Quick question - what are the best size replacements for them? I'm sure I can find the replacements at Sears Hardware or something... I remember a thread on them but unfortunately couldn't find them searching. Anybody know? Looking for information on size, and what type you used to replace. (Hex, et al.)

And me...need to replace them in the near future wth a much better bolt. I called AKH and they couldn't tell me what the size was...so far that's the only problem that I have with the Gen2 TODA am gears.

What the reason you used when you ask for new bolts?
I email them and they just reply and said they will get me some replacement bolts if I need them, but didn't say if it is free or not. But I doubt it will be free.

 

What's so crappy about the Toda supplied bolt?

you can go to your local hardware store and get a few bolts~fine thread with 10mm hex heads on them. You'll find it much easier to adjust the the gears with hex heads as opposed to allen bolts. Grab a few washers and some med strength loctite and you're all set. If the bolts are too long, you can dremel the ends off to shorten them. Viola, much better than using allen type bolts.

 

IMO they are too soft. Wear the inside too easily... and I'm using a T hex wrench.
