Default 98 civic ex starting techniques

i have a 98 civic ex coupe with a stock engine. I was wondering what some good techniques for getting a good start when dragging are. Whenever i do it my tires spin way too much and i don't get a good start. I was also wondering if i should redline in 1st gear or shift out of it earlier. I'd greatly appreciate any advice u guys have on this.

Your ex should not spin through first gear if this is happing get better tires, dump the clutch at like 6k and redline every gear.
