Default Wheel hop....

Is there a way to totally eliminate it?
Anyone have any experience with the Energy Suspension bushings in drag racing? (I'm guessing they're for the control arms)

Ran my R at Englishtown today on drag radials. Raised it up, and got less wheel hop, but some of it was still there.

Do a search for "z10" there is plenty of information on the z10 radius bars, which tie the lca lower ball joint to the frame. I have them, they work great. Say byebye wheel hop!

Z-10 Traction bars should help greatly, poly bushings may help....

Thanks for that vid. I was still debating on getting a CF hood, and your car has helped me finally decide. What make is yours, looks clean (from what I could see around the smoke.)

For those of you that dont know... he already has the Z10 setup... and also the Z10 setup isnt a complete fix, it is just a temporary fix to the solution...

Other than traction bars, what else can help... Any 1 use the ES suspension inserts???????

Z10 Radius Arms are top notch... I've been looking at them for a while.

I had a HORRIBLE wheel hop problem with the stock tires. The Azenis solved that problem real fast, are you using the stock tires, drag radials, slicks or what???

I do have the Z10 radius arms. They help, but it's not a 100% fix.
I get wheel hop with all tires. Street, drag radials and slicks. I'm not TOO worried about the little bit of hop that I get at the top of 1st gear, after the wheel spin has calmed down, but if the wheels hop for me on the launch, there's always a good chance that the axles break (for those of U that know me, you know I've broken more than a dozen axles last season).
Maybe I just need to raise the car. Had it raised a little bit for the Survival Series thing at Englishtown this Saturday, and wheel hop wasn't TOO bad. (ended up winning Frantic Four in the A class).

....new burnout videos as soon as I take care of the wheel hop situation

congrats terry.

You without question have the weirdest thing happening. i think you should take your own advice on the urthane kit. I don't know much more you can do. Try getting the car to the height you want it and do an allignment. as much as you move the suspension around i'm sure thats part of the problem.

yup, i think you hit the nail on the head there, susp components are not aligned the way they should be, terry, youve got the car pretty low. try raising it a bit more..

Who tunes suspension?
Should I invest in a camber kit? I ask this because I can care less about tire wear. I'm only interested in eliminating wheel hop and save my axles.

Oh yeah, from this past Saturday (Englishtown), I got a violent shake at high rpms when I accelerate hard. Thought it was an axle about to go again. Still drove 3 hours to CT and back, after racing. Checked it out today. The driver's side inner CV was chillin there like a limp dick (was probably going to break any second). The passenger side 32mm axle nut somehow spun 3/4 way loose. Kinda suprised that it happened, because I dented the nut onto the axle when I put them in, so they should have locked in place. Very strange.

Well i had crazy wheel hop in my car, so i got some Koni Yellows, and Motor Mount Inserts, and instead of just droping my clutch at 7000 RPM like i used to i slip the clutch out now, from around 7200RPM, helps a lot with wheel hop, and gives me a better hook up out of the whole

God i love my BFGoodrich GForce KDs

i got the es mounts inserts, but didnt install them yet , with you z10's im sure they will help a bit .
raise it up a bit though. . . how low is it up front? too low will cause axles to break really easy. maybe that was part of your prob. . . . question since i finally caught you . waht size slicks were you running last season in the beginning on your type r wheels. you were cutting hella good 60 fts and i cant catch em at all on my mt 8/22/15's . i know you had slicks and 15's and were doing like 1.8-1.9 60 fts from what i remmeber.

Wassup? I remember you.
I ran 22x8x15" slicks for most of last season, on the stock Type R wheels. I was cutting between high 1.7's to mid 1.8 60 foot times. Do a good burnout, and launch the car at 7000rpms. Slip the clutch out fast. Don't dump it, or your axles are done.
I'm going to raise my car up, maybe a little lower than stock height, and see what happens. Going to try the 22x8x15" slicks again.

why you gonna go back to them? i cant get these damn things to hit lower than a 2.0 for some reason its driving me nuts. . . what psi were you running .
i was doing crazy burnouts , they are getting reall hott, but i think the pressure was much , i started at like 15psi before burnout , i think thats my prob.
13's not doing it anymore?didnt you put 4 lug up front?

I'm going back to the 15's because the 13's requires running the 4 lug suspension up front, and that wasn't doing it for me. Those little Civic brakes are weak as hell in an Integra. I put 5 lug back on the car the day after the race.

I ran the slicks at 12psi on the left, 11.5psi on the right, depending on track conditions and weather. If it's real hot out, or track is sticky, raise the pressure a little, and vise versa.

Bring your car out to an event. I'll run it and show you 1.8's with your slicks.
