Default i dont have any fu_king luck!! Please give opinion.

Okay, I finally got my Skunk StG II cams installed at Top Speed in Naples.. I was driving home ( had driven close to 100 miles )
and all of a sudden the engine looses power and starts to sputter. I coast to a stop and try to crank it,
It does but it ran really bad so I cut it off. I though maybe The cam gear slipped but they were fine. I
pulled each of the plugs and it turns out, cylinder # 4 plug is gone to ****. I mean broken, threads
fucked all all. ( no electrode left). They are a lot of metal peices on top of the piston that i can see. I
dont understand how this happened!! Imean i was not detonatin!
Well my question is, should I just try and get the metal out and put in a new plug to see how it runs ?
or should I remove the head to see if there is damage? tia.

BTW Mike K is a great guy, Really helpful...

I figured, has this happened to anyone? My plugs were old and very fouled. Could this have been the culprit??

i'd be willing to bet that the motor is toast. Generally if the plug comes out
looking like that then a valve bent or broke off and got pounded between the
piston and the head.

That makes sense. Funny thing is, It did not make any noise when it cut loose. It just ran bad.

Valve train is intact. I have not checked the head yet. I hope the CC is not ruined. Can this be fixed? Piston is gone to ****. The head has a very professionally done port and polish. I would sell the head for $500.00 shipped (w/ stock cams) if its not damaged. I will most likely take pics on moday, and have them ready to email by wed. If you guys need anything let me know. I appreciated the help around here. With the money from the parts, Ill be byuying a B20z to go along my Y21 tranny.
I am keeping tha one stock...
