Default Why doesnt my door lock?

My driver side door hand isnt sitting flush like it is as the passenger side? So when i try to lock my car with my pager (Compustar 2W900FMR) it doesnt lock. So im thinking it has to do something with the door handle not sitting flush. So now i have to pull the door handle on the outside all the way out then let go then shut the door. And this whole time i thought it would lock it self, im pretty lucky i didnt have to find out the hard way when someone tries to break into my car.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this. im not really sure about doors.

The door lock actuator inside the door mounted on the latch assy. is starting to fail.....

take off the door panels, and there should be some plasticy stuff. carefully remove that and you should see the actuator. now lock and unlock your door, see if the actuator works. if it succesfully locks and unlock when the door panel is off, its not ur actuator. its actually that ur door panel is aligned correctly thus a piece of the door panel got caught in the door lock so it couldnt move.

i dunno hard to explain, but it happened to me.

goodluck.

Taking the door panel off and checking will only work if you latch the latch like the door is shut. Otherwise it will just cycle. The actuator will need to be replaced.....

This one right? how much is a new one from a dealership its called a Latch Actuator? or should i get one from a junkyard? Are all integra latch actuator interchangeable? So after i replace it, the door handle and lock thing will be sitting flush? Thanks

i think it is the problem because when i try to lock it from the inside it wouldnt lock even if i put stress on it. But on the passenger side its easy.

is this what i need? Part Number 2?

i think you should just take it to the dealers parts department and bring the assembly and show them what you need.

Ya your right #26/#3. They are side specific, You will need some special tools to do the entire job as the latch assembly will need to be removed......

Ok i just figured out why my door handles and lock wasnt sitting flush it was the door panel. The door panel wasnt on correctly but now it is. But my driver side door still doesnt lock. When i had the cover off for the lock it worked but now when i have the cover on it doesnt lock. It tries to lock but it doesnt.
