Default a/c from hb to crx

How difficult would it be to swap the entire a/c system from my '89 si ef hatch to my '88 crx with zc? Would it be as easy as just unhooking/disconnecting everything from the hatch and the reconnecting in the crx? Or is there other stuff involved such as discharging the a/c system before disconnecting it? Are there any parts that are suggested to be replaced once they are removed? Sorry, I really am a NEWB when it comes to this. The reason for doing this is because my timing belt gave out on my hatch, so I'm looking just to take the a/c from it and then sell the car.

Thanks. Hopefully I can get this done soon, 'cause it's been real hot over here the last week, and unfortunately, now the crx is my dd.

Yes you can do it, but the AC system MUST be discharged. Go to an A/C shop and have them evacuate the system. Then swap all the parts, buy a new dryer/receiver ( I bought one for $8 on ebay), replace the o rings at all the connections ( buy an o ring kit at an auto parts store) and then it would also be a good time to switch to R134a. I use artic freeze and it works just as well as the old R12 I had. If you don't have the gauges, hoses, vacuum pump and knowledge, this is not a job for you.

If you want to go blind, sure.

I suggest you get the parts that were suggested above, swap everything over and let an A/C shop recharge it for you. All the parts will directly swap over. Both systems are the same.

I kinda thought that might be the case, and I'm glad you guys replied. Yeah, looks like I would be in over my head on this one.
