h22 intake manifold swap question
hey im trying to put this skunk 2 manifold on and it looks like its gonna plug the hole that on the stock manifold leeds to the egr. any buddy know about installing the skunk 2 manifold made for h22's?
ha, just noticed you were from DSM...
what car/year do you have and what ecu are you using?
on the obd1 stuff its pretty easy to fool the stock computer by just leaving the valve plugged in and tying it off somewhere, but its not that easy on the obd2
I think skunk does make an egr kit though, I imagine it requires a little bit of fabbing.

I got a 97 honda prelude but im in the middle of a motor swap switching from sh to jdm cuz my SH motor had to much crap goin wrong with it. it is OBD 2. so wat do you think i should do cuz i swaped everything over, fuel rail, sensors, throttle body, etc. so now im not sure wat i have to do.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the kit when I went out shopping. The casting itself still has absolutely no provision for EGR-related stuff, including the head flange.

Well the obd1 computer only looks to see that the valve is moving up and down, so as long as its plugged in its fine. The obd2 that you have however actually looks for flow going through the valve and I'm not sure theres any way getting around without it.
Also I think you will throw a code by not having the IAB bypass solenoid plugged in which could be a problem too.

so wat ur saying is it wont work at all if i dont have the egr kit or will i jus throw a code that dosent effect my performance? cuz i realy dont have alot of time right now to wait for that egr kit.
who did he buy the manifold from I have that maniflod and when u get it new out of the box it come with the egr kit and very detailed install instuction the make put it on and running right a cake walk
well guys im thinking about putting a skunk2 intake manifold and the blox throttle body in my 2001 honda prelude, i just want to know will i be losing alot of gas? Will it sound weird when its idling and will the check engine light come on? i need help
itll make a small humming noise which some think is anoying and some think is cool as for gas dont think itll do much alteration at all. oh and i got if from my buddy he gave me a deal on it because he bought it and put it on but it wouldnt fit in his CRX's engine bay so then he sold it to me, he lost the instructions so ya and now he got weard and literaly disappeared. so now looks like i dont have to pay him. go me! oh and incase your wondering this is an h22 manifold he has a h22 in his CRX. he flips his nos in the middle of 4th and gets a scratch! Its freakin crazy!

you will throw a code if you dont leave the EGR plugged up, either you can A) run a p28, there is no EGR program on that ecu, B) keep the EGR plugged up, but tuck it away, so you dont have to look at it hanging, will still look clean, and NO cel from it being unplugged

hmm, ive never had any IAB's on my car, and I have never thrown a code. Only code I ever got was a 5(i beleive, something to do with the dizzy) and a 23, god damn knock sensor...

O ok, I didn't want to speak out of turn and just completely say you were wrong, just stating that that was my case...
